I’m Sleepy, A Lot (RTAM 8 of 25)

Nothing much, except a desperate request for any advice, any at all, on how to get things done when they should be? I’ve read articles on prioritizing my work flow, I’ve cleaned out my workspace, and I’ve organized my life beyond comprehension, but I just can’t get things done efficiently? Any help would be greatly appreciated…

  3. One of the problems is that you're talking about doing stuff instead of actually doing it (Like right now). The only real solution is to force yourself.

    Either that or......
    1. Get a friend or family member to hold something important to you until you get your thing done (I'm gonna be a jerk and say your modem)

    2. For every minute you procrastinate, a family member or friend cuts your blanket in half

    3. If you're about to fall asleep without getting everything you need done, get one of those shock collar things so you'll wake back up.

    4. Put Eye of the Tiger on loop as you do your work.

Well those are my suggestions, follow any of them if you want to.

  4. Lol, thanks James, I don't think falling asleep is my problem, it's not falling asleep...

  5. Oh, well, cross out number 3 then.

I strongly suggest number 4 though. If you play it long enough it'll just be natural...Like air. Or something. Is it school work/paperwork that needs to get done or other things?

  6. Hey! I love eye of the tiger, and yeah, it's mostly school work and paper work.

As for the modem, my connection absolutely cannot be interrupted, as I'm just running way too many things on my network that are very sensitive. (VPN to tunnel into Infor servers, VNC to tunnel back to my network, Orb hosting, Bittorrent Server, a simple web server, and my strange network configuration that I have going, it's all very delicate...)

  7. Well if all that goes down the crapper because of your modem being removed, then you've got more motivation to do/finish your work if someone threatens to remove it if you don't! Or something along the lines of that...

  8. Very true... I've never though of it that way, I'll like make empty threats against myself! Yay!

  9. Self-motivation. If you have other people help you, it'll just be worse later on.

Find something to keep you busy. When I was doing crew and had almost zero free time, I got my work done every single night because I knew there was no room for slacking. If it was earlier in the year, I'd suggest that you join a club or sport, but as it stands, getting a job or doing hardcore volunteering would be your best bet.

  10. James is right
You talk more about doing stuff and being efficient than you spend time actually trying to do stuff and be efficient
I say that you force yourself
It's not one of those things with a magic formulas where if you just do some specific thing, your life will be perfect
Please don't be like girls who think that if they just find the magical makeup/product, they'll be beautiful
You're never going to find a formula for life
    You just gotta do it

    GET A JOB!!!

  12. @Ranni, okay, I'll try my best. I'm trying to get a job!

@stance241, Hm, I've never tried that before...

  13. it's a matter of focus and self-discipline.. whenever i catch myself doing nothing when im supposed to be doing something, i ask myself why i am doing w/e im doing when i should be doing my work, since if i actually dident do w/e i was doing, i would finish my work faster, and then be able to do w/e i wanted to do without having a guilty conscience/being distracted by work that needs to be done
